OECD Praises Government Crisis Measures

The pair analysed in great detail the economic situation of Slovenia, which was hit hard be the global economic crisis.

They also discussed key short- and long-term development measures, especially those concerning the banking system and the implementation of the pension and labour market reforms, the prime minister's office said.

Janša pointed out that the government had already endorsed several measures aimed at consolidating the public finances, ease the credit crunch and improve the business environment in a bid to stimulate economic growth.

Gurria expressed support to the prime minister and the entire Slovenian government and praised the efforts Slovenia has been putting in the forming of crisis measures and structural reforms.

The OECD secretary general, who is taking part of the Bled Strategic forum, also met Economic Development and Technology Minister Radovan Žerjav and some other senior officials today.
