Slovenia makes top 10 sustainable destinations at WTM

London, 8 November - Slovenia has placed among the top ten most sustainable and responsible destinations in the world at the World Travel Market (WTM), one of the key events in the tourism industry, which is taking place in London this week.

The ranking is topped by Norway, selected as the most sustainable and responsible destination by 15% of tourism executives taking part in WTM's London's Industry Report 2022 poll.

Costa Rica is in second place (14%) followed by the Maldives (13%), New Zealand (12%), Finland (11%), Iceland (9%), Bhutan (6%) and Slovenia in place eight with 4%. Kenya also got 4%, followed by the Galapagos Islands (3%) in tenth place.

Slovenia's presentation at WTM, organised by the country's Tourism Board and featuring two dozens tourism business, is focused on the Julian Alps and highlights the country as a smart and innovative destination.
