FinMin Says Slovenia Will Need Some EUR 0.5BN by End of Year

"It is true, however, that a successful bond issue by the end of the year were very helpful," said the minister.

He admitted that Slovenia was experiencing tough times, adding that the government must push through reforms in autumn. The more successful the cabinet will be in this, the better chances for Slovenia to avoid a euro bailout.

When asked which companies the government wants to privatise, the minister said flag carrier Adria Airways would have to undergo a restructuring, as well as the NLB bank.

There is also no reason for the state to keep its stakes in other companies that are in a better state, like telco Telekom, insurer Triglav and energy company Petrol.
