The prime ministers are also to discuss opportunities to strengthen bilateral ties, especially in finance, according to a press release from Janša's office. Due to its experience, Luxembourg could be a significant partner for Slovenia in this field.

The meeting comes amidst speculation that Slovenia is the next in line to request aid from eurozone bailout funds.

The speculations were reignited after Janša said last week that Slovenia would be insolvent in October unless it implements reforms planned by his government.

Finance Minister Janez Šušteršič, on the other hand, believes that the country is capable of tackling the problems on its own given that reforms are indeed implemented.
