Biennial Puppet Festival Kicking Off in Ljubljana

The programme of the 11th international festival, drafted by acting artistic director of LGL puppet theatre Jan Zakonjšek, will feature groups from Slovenia, Hungary, Spain, Great Britain, Israel, Serbia, Germany, Bulgaria, Estonia, Italy, Netherlands, Switzerland, Columbia, Canada and the Czech Republic.

LGL, the organiser of the festival, said that highlights of the festival included James Blond, a parody by Czech director Divadlo Alf, "Savannah" by Israeli Amit Drori, and "Punchy Draw" by the French group La Pendue, as the highlights of the festival.

Four Slovenian performances will be featured at the festival, including "Luknja" (A Hole), director Matija Solce's adaptation of "Alice in Wonderland".

LUTKE 2012 will open with a performance by Serbia's Pinokio puppet theatre entitled "Max Metalik" (Max Metallic).
