His art, including painting, photography, installations and performances, is based on a structuralist approach to the world of art and has a clear populist agenda, which discloses how the art system works in reality.

Djurić deals with the logic of presentation and reconsiders the position of the artist in various segments of the art system, the Maribor 2012 institute, which is overseeing Maribor's stint as the culture capital, noted.

His works were put on display at various prominent venues, including the Secession in Vienna and the Modern Art Museum in St. Etienne.

The Serbian Cultural Embassy will moreover feature on Friday the performance dubbed "So[l]" (Salt) by designer Dragana Ognjenović. The fashion show put together by the designer will bring together sounds, colours and flavours.

According to Maribor 2012, Ognjenović will stage a completely new artistic concept where salt is mixed with the science of sound wave patterns.

The author of the DO Fashion project entered the fashion world as an interior designer and theatre and film costume designer.

Ognjenović's performance, which will be followed by a fashion show on the opening night, will be on display until the end of the month.

Apart from Serbia, the Cultural Embassies programme of the European Culture Capital also features presentations of Belgium, Bulgaria, Macedonia and Austria in September.
