Petrol prices have dropped to levels not seen since before the energy crisis and after the latest round of price administration Slovenia has some of the cheapest petrol in Europe.

As of 20 December regular petrol off the motorway network costs €1.242 a litre and diesel at €1.467 a litre, down 12.4 and 8.9 cents, respectively. Heating oil is almost ten cents cheaper at €1.095 a litre.

The state regulates prices at service stations outside the motorway network and in in accordance with the current directive, the maximum permitted margin for retailers is just under ten cents per litre for diesel.

Data by AMZS, Slovenia's automotive club, show that the country has some of the cheapest Petrol in Europe, comparable to those in North Macedonia and Moldova.
