Slovenian basketball star Luka Dončić has made NBA history. He led his Dallas Mavericks to a 126:121 win against the New York Knicks on 27 December with 60 points, 21 rebounds and 10 assists, the first such triple double ever in the NBA.

Before Dončić only two players have ever gone beyond 50 points and 20 rebounds in a triple-double: Wilt Chamberlain, who did it twice, and Elgin Baylor.

At age 23, Dončić is now the youngest player ever to record a 50-point triple-double, and one of only two players with a 60-point triple-double.

"I'm tired as hell," Dončić said after the win with a big smile on his face, adding: "I need a recovery beer." Looking ahead, he believes every game should be played with this kind of attitude.

Dončić spent about 47 minutes on court in the game against the Knicks, and in addition to the triple double he recorded two steals, four turnovers and one block.
