Nekategorizirano

The three institutions, the Jožef Stefan Institute (IJS), the Chemistry Institute and the National Biology Institute, see the Slovenian society as being based on knowledge and innovation. A certain degree of such know-how does already exist in R&D but it is very vulnerable.

To translate science into economy to improve the competitive edge on the global market demands stable funding of research activity, systematic development, employment of youth and a a focus on the fields that can bring results important for the society, the press release said.

Science and development in Slovenia are of good quality, considering the poor amount of funds invested, the institutes said. "We could be better if Slovenia introduced funding models used in developed countries...but unfortunately we detected that Slovenia has been lagging behind in R&D...since 2009."
