Šutej wins silver at European Athletics Championships
Tina Šutej won silver in the pole vault at the European Indoor Athletics Championships in Istanbul on 4 March to cement her status as currently Slovenia's most successful female track-and-field athlete.
Šutej finished with a height of 4.75 metres. Wilma Murto of Finland cleared 4.80 metres in her first attempt, while the 34-year-old Slovenian was unsuccessful at this height and continued at 4.85 metres, which also proved too much so she had to settle for silver.
This is Šutej's fourth medal from major competitions. She won bronze at the World Indoor Championships in Belgrade last year, bronze at the European Championships in Munich last year, and silver in at the European Indoor Championship in Torun, Poland, two years ago.
