Exports Increase While Imports Decline

Exports were up 2.5% year-on-year to EUR 1.533bn in August, whereas the value of imports fell by 0.6% to EUR 1.688bn in August compared with the same month a year ago. The export-import ratio was at 90.8%.

Slovenia exported EUR 1.004bn worth of goods or 65.5% of all exports to EU countries in August. Imports from those markets amounted to EUR 1.26bn or 74.7% of all imports.

Exports to non-EU markets added up to EUR 528.9m and imports from those markets amounted to EUR 427.2m in August.

In the first eight months of the year Slovenia exported EUR 13.822bn worth of goods and imported EUR 14.624bn. The trade gap amounted to EUR 802.8m.
