Pop's Pizza in Ljubljana has made the list of top 50 pizza places in Europe, excluding Italy, for the second time in a row in the latest 50 Top Pizza guide.

Located on the Ljubljanica riverside, Pop's Pizza is up three spots from last year's ranking to place 40th.

Barcelona's Sartoria Panatieri, Copenhagen's Baest and London's 50 Kalò were crowned as Europe's top three pizzerias when not taking into account pizza's birthplace, Italy.

Verace, another Ljubljana-based pizza restaurant that was on the list in 2021 and 2022, has not made it this year, but its Nova Gorica restaurant did earn honourable mention.

As for neighbouring countries, Via Toledo Enopizzeria in Vienna landed in fourth place and Franko's Pizza & Bar in Zagreb in 43rd. Italian pizzerias compete in a separate category.

The best 25 European pizza places from the top 50 list have also been shortlisted for the selection of the best 100 pizza places in the world, the results of which will be revealed in mid-September.
