Albania Crush Slovenia's World Cup Hopes

Frankfurt striker Odise Roshi was the lone striker for the hosts in a game that saw plenty of goal opportunities on both sides.

The loss severely weakens the position of Slovenian coach Slaviša Stojanović, who has a lacklustre 1:3 record in qualifying group E, the sole win coming against last-placed Cyprus last week.

There have been mounting calls that he be sacked and today's loss is bound to increase the pressure on the Football Association to act.

Slovenia will enter the spring part of the qualifying tied with Cyprus in last place, with three points from four games.

Switzerland are firmly on top with ten points having defeated Iceland 2:0 today. Norway are second with seven points while Iceland and Albania have six points each.
