Pečečnik aims to create region's major asset manager

Investment & Real Estate

Elektronček, a company owned by one of the wealthiest Slovenians, has completed the acquisition of Primorski Skladi, an asset manager. The plan is to turn it into a leading asset manager in Central and Eastern Europe.

"In an era of rapid change in financial markets, we want to give every entrepreneur and other private investor in Slovenia and the broader region the chance to respond to the changes with smart investing," Elektronček said on 6 June.

They want to make investment funds a lucrative alternative to bank deposits and align investing to individual long-term wishes and needs, and partner with "credible international financial institutions and companies".

Elektronček announced the acquisition in September 2022 and received clearance from the competition watchdog a month later.

Founded in 1994, Primorski Skladi had €49 million in assets under management at the end of last year, according to the company's annual report.

Elektronček is owned by Joc Pečečnik, who sold his gaming business Interblock in 2022 and has been investing in a number of Slovenian companies.
