The summer season in Ljubljana will feature around 70 concerts by performers from 24 countries as part of two summer festivals running from 15 June to 22 September, the 35th Imago Sloveniae festival of classical music and the Nights in Old Ljubljana Town.

Imago Sloveniae opens with a concert of the Symphony Orchestra of the SNG Maribor theatre in Congress Square.

The orchestra, conducted by Simon Krečič, will be joined by SNG Maribor opera singers and Slovenian harpist Evelin Greblo, a ten-year-old who won the national competition of young musicians TEMSIG and was the youngest participant of the 2020 Virtuosos V4+ competition in Budapest.

Other highlights include the German duo of cellist Reinhard Latzko and pianist Philipp Scheucher, the Portuguese piano duo of Martim Almeida and Bernardo Santos, and the Italian Luca Magni trio.

Ensemble.si, which features some of the most internationally acclaimed Slovenian musicians, such as Andrej Žust and Matic Kuder from the Berlin Philharmonic, will also perform, and so will Indonesian choir The Archipelago Singers.

As always, the concerts are admission free, and will be largely held at the Ljubljana City Museum.

At the end of August, Imago Sloveniae will be joined by the Nights in Old Ljubljana Town, which will open with the best Ljubljana Opera and Ballet soloists can offer.

An international conference at which experts will discuss how babies, toddlers and vulnerable groups perceive music will also be held. It is part of B-Air, an international project coordinated by the public radio broadcaster Radio Slovenija.
