Krško Nuclear Plant Back Online After Sunday's Shut Down

The plant had been shut down because the river had been carrying large quantities of leaves and other small objects with it, diminishing the effectiveness of the secondary cooling system, NEK said in today's press release.

Following the shut down, a check-up of the equipment and necessary maintenance work was carried out.

Due to the cold front that brought heavy rain and snow to Slovenia on Saturday night, several regional roads had to be closed, while reports of flooding came from the western Goriško and south-eastern Dolenjsko regions.

In the Maribor area, some 40,000 households were left without electricity, while disturbances were reported also in the Ljubljana and Celje regions.
