The members of the Finance Committee will decide on all amendments proposed by other parliamentary working bodies and deputy groups, whereupon the bills will be sent back to the government.

The cabinet has until 21 November to decide on the amendments and tweak the budgets before sending them back to parliament for final confirmation at the plenary.

The austerity budgets are geared towards the reduction of the deficit, which is projected to drop to just under 3% of GDP next year and 2.5% of GDP in 2014.
