Dončić producing real-time World Cup docuseries about Team Slovenia
NBA superstar Luka Dončić will produce a short-film docuseries to provide a behind-the-scenes look into the journey of the Slovenian men's national basketball team at the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup, starting in Asia on 25 August. Episodes will be released in real time on Dončić's social media.
The Slovenian Basketball Association said the series, entitled Everything It Takes, will be produced by Dončić's production company 77x and will entail an international cooperation of talent from all over the world.
Directed by Andy Madeleine, the docuseries is being shot in an innovative format designed for viewing on mobile devices and optimised for media such as TikTok, YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels.
In contrast to traditional sport documentaries, the episodes will be released in real time, lending an intimate and dynamic insight into training, as well as the ups and downs of a world-class competition.
"I am proud to share the story of my national team, especially my teammates, and to shine a light on Slovenian basketball and what it means to me," Dončić said. "It is more than just what we do on the court. It is about the brotherhood, the heart of our team, the passion of our fans and the love for our country."
Team Slovenia will play their first game, against Venezuela, in Okinawa on 26 August.
