The agency issued a warning that the Drava's flow on the border with Austria will increase from 766 to around 1000 m3/s in the coming night. Last Monday the river's flow in places exceeded 3,000 m3/s.

The Drava basin was hit hardest in the flooding that affected Slovenia at the beginning of the week. The river surged as large quantities of water came rolling down from Austria.

The other rivers are slowing down, according to the Environmental Agency.

However, rivers are expected to start rising again on Sunday and Sunday night as heavy precipitation is forecast for tomorrow for western and northern parts of the country.

The rains will spread to central Slovenia on Sunday night and Monday.
