While negotiations on the reforms are still ongoing, the government wants the laws in parliament as soon as possible in order to meet the goal of putting the reforms into place by the end of the year.

It has also promised the social partners it would continue negotiations all the way through the parliamentary procedure.

Called upon the request of a group of deputies headed by Jože Tanko of the Democrats (SDS), the extraordinary session will also see lawmakers debate laws on personal income tax, financial services tax and value added tax.
