Average Pay Down 1.3% in September
The average gross pay for September 2012 was EUR 1,489.00, which is a nominal drop of 1.6% over August. In real terms the monthly drop for the average gross pay was 2.7%.
The biggest decreases on the monthly level were recorded in water supply, sewerage, waste management and remediation activities (by 4.2%), agriculture, forestry and fishing (by 4.1%), and manufacturing (by 4.0%).
The highest average monthly gross wages for September 2012 were recorded in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (EUR 2,201.25).
The public sector has seen a bigger year-on-year decrease in average wages, by 1.6% (to EUR 1,734.51), compared to the private sector, where wages went down by 1.1% (to EUR 1,354.74).
