The Slovenian Dallas Mavericks star Luka Dončić scored a 30-point triple-double against the Detroit Pistons on 9 March, becoming the first player ever to record six consecutive 30-point triple doubles in NBA history.

Dončić finished the game with 39 points, 10 assists and 10 rebounds. He also extended his own record with a fifth straight 35-point triple-double.

He is just the fourth player with ten 35-point triple-doubles in a season, according to statistics compiled by ESPN, the American sports broadcaster.

"That just shows what level he's playing on right now," Mavericks coach Jason Kidd said. "The level that he's at - to be able to score, to be able to find his teammates, and then lastly to be able to rebound the ball for us and help on the defensive end."

This is just the latest record the 25-year-old achieved this season. He scored 73 points against the Atlanta Hawks on 27 January, a personal best and the fourth-highest scoring performance in NBA history.

The Mavericks have now won two games in a row after losing five of their previous six. They are currently eights in the western conference with 36 wins and 28 losses.
