Slovenia's main foreign affairs event, the Bled Strategic Forum (BSF), will focus on cooperation to the benefit of all this year. Running under the theme A World of Parallel Realities, the 19th BSF will take place on 2 and 3 September and will give even more room to young people than usual.

At a time of a large global transformation that may shape the future to a significant extent, the ability to listen and hear in the international community is of key importance in reaching effective and sustainable solutions, BSF Secretary General Peter Grk said in announcing the theme of the event on 14 May.

"This is what this year's BSF brings - an inclusive platform in which voices, views and mentalities of different players in the global multilateral environment are heard and taken into account," Grk said.

For the first time, the BSF will incorporate the concept of living library, an interactive event featuring people with different backgrounds and experiences.

Foreign Minister Tanja Fajon said that dialogue and sustainable solutions are a societal imperative at a time when the international community is faced with a cycle of competitiveness, uncertainty and antagonism that are reflected in instability, violence and conflicts.

Before the main two-day forum, the annual Young BSF will take place on the Pokljuka plateau above Bled, bringing together 40 young people from around the world.

The BSF is organised by the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs and the Centre for European Perspective, bringing together politicians, business executives and civil society representatives from across the world.
