Slovenia will field 14 athletes in four disciplines at the 2024 Summer Paralympics in Paris, which will take place from 28 August to 8 September.

Unveiled by the Slovenian Paralympic Committee on 13 August, the national team features the women's sitting volleyball team, archers Živa Lavrinc and Dejan Fabčič, discus thrower Henrik Plank and shooter Franček Gorazd Tiršek.

Tiršek is heading to his fourth Paralympic Games, having won a total of four Paralympic medals - a silver each in 2012, 2016 and 2021, and a bronze in 2021.

At his last international competition in Novi Sad, Serbia, he showed good form in the air rifle standing and air rifle prone disciplines.

"The good feelings that we had during practice are a great motivation for us. We will continue to work on composure and being calm and positive and achieving good results," Tiršek's coach Andreja Gorjup told the press.

Discus thrower Plank is also confident ahead of his fourth Paralympic Games, while archers Fabčič and Lavrinc have already attracted some attention this year, having both finished third in World Cup events.

The women's sitting volleyball team is also determined to present themselves in the best possible light in Paris. Their coach Simon Božič also led the team at the 2012 Summer Paralympics in London.

The 2024 Summer Paralympics will feature around 4,400 parathletes, and a total of 549 medals will be awarded in 22 disciplines.

So far, Slovenian Paralympians have won 52 medals, all but one in the Summer Paralympics, including 14 golds.

The largest number of medals, six each, were won by Franjo Izlakar in shot put and discus throw and late Jože Banfi in sitting volleyball and swimming.
