Spending per Student to Remain at Pre-Crisis Levels
Speaking at a meeting of secondary school head teachers in Portorož, Turk said the ministry would strive to maintain education spending per student at "pre-crisis levels".
He also announced a number of legislative changes, including new rules on subsidies in order to provide more primary and secondary school students with subsidised meals.
The changes, which have already been put to public debate, will also introduce skills and values related to entrepreneurship, innovation, creativity and life-long learning into the school curriculum of gimnazija (upper-secondary school), the minister added.
Moreover, the law will include new safeguards to curb fictitious enrolment, which is often used to gain access to student benefits such as tax breaks and subsidies.
