Slovenia to Abstain from Voting on Palestine in the UN
The minister, who is currently on a visit to France, said that the government had discussed the issue on Wednesday and decided that Slovenia would abstain from voting.
He added that he had not attended the government session because of the Slovenia-Russia Mixed Government Commission that was held in Brdo pri Kranju yesterday.
Erjavec believes most countries in the UN General Assembly will support the resolution on Palestine. The parliamentary Foreign Affairs Committee, which debated the issue on Tuesday, recommended that Slovenia back the resolution if it turned out that most of the countries support it, the minister added.
