The wealth of 100 richest Slovenians is estimated to have grown by 14% compared to last year to reach a record €9.97 billion, according to annual wealth rankings compiled by business news portal Finance.

The threshold to make the top 100 list was €43.1 million, €8 million more than last year. Finance estimates that there are about 200 individuals in Slovenia now worth upwards of €20 million.

Iza Sia and Samo Login, the former spouses who made their wealth with the hit mobile app Talking Tom but have since branched into real estate and other ventures, once again top the list.

The Logins are estimated to be worth €414 million each and share first place on the list. Their assets are estimated to have grown by a fifth.

"We adjusted the proceeds from the sale of Outfit 7 to 20% inflation," Finance said in reference to Logins' former company that developed Talking Tom in the 2010s and was sold to Chinese investors in 2017 for a billion dollars.

"With a 30% growth of real estate over three years and returns on the Ljubljana Stock Exchange exceeding 50%, we cannot argue that the country's most successful entrepreneurs could not (at least) preserve the purchase power of their millions," Finance said.

In third place is Jure Knez, who managed the greatest leap toward the top of the list since last year. The founder and CEO of software developer Dewesoft is estimated to be worth €360 million, 48% more than a year ago and ten times as much as only five years ago. This is Knez's first time in the top five.

Dari and Vesna Južna, spouses with a sprawling portfolio of companies, including 10% of the country's largest energy company Petrol, are in fourth place, their assets estimated at €345 million, or 29% more than a year ago.

In fifth place is the Šešok family, the owners of Iskra group. Their wealth is estimated at €340 million, 26% more than last year.

Meanwhile, Igor Lah, whose family was at the top of the list last year, slid to sixth place, as Finance estimates his assets decreased by 15% to €326 million due to poorer performance by the glassworks Steklarna Hrastnik, the flagship in his portfolio.

Igor Akrapovič, the owner and founder of a prominent exhaust maker, is in place seven, his assets estimated to have grown by 19% to €253 million.

Marko Pistotnik, another co-founder and former owner of the developer of Talking Tom, is in eighth place with €252 million, up 20%.

The top ten are rounded off by Ivo and Anastasia Taja Boscarol, the founder of Pipistrel electric lightweight planes maker and his daughter. They are estimated to be worth €249 million, 17% more than last year.

Like last year, the list includes four athletes. NBA superstar Luka Dončić is in 22 place, his assets nearly doubling to reach €105 million. He has become the first Slovenian athlete to surpass the hundred million euro mark.

Recently retired NBA player Goran Dragić is in 44th place, having earned €69.4 million. Atletico Madrid goalie Jan Oblak is in 85th place with €47.6 million, while NHL player Anže Kopitar is 93rd with €45.3 million.

The estimates of athletes' wealth is calculated based on their gross income excluding taxes and estimated cost, but do not take into account possible yields from wealth management.
