Protesters in Maribor, where the wave of rallies that spread throughout Slovenia last week began, will again demand that Mayor Franc Kangler steps down over allegations of corruption.

Scheduled for the afternoon, the so called "Third Maribor Uprising" will run under the slogan "Nesimo ga vun!" (Let's Carry Him Out!).

The anonymous organisers again urged people through a Facebook profile to express their protest against national and local politicians peacefully.

Meanwhile, two protests are scheduled to be held in the capital Ljubljana, where the biggest demonstration so far turned violent on Friday.

One group will protest against Ljubljana Mayor Zoran Jankovič in front of town hall, while another group will again stage a rally at Congress Square.

In Celje, protesters will gather in front of the town hall. On their Facebook page, the organisers said "it is time to step together and prove to the ruling elites that we are united and that we can join forces when necessary".

The organisers of the protests in Ptuj and Ravne na Koroškem also urged people to refrain from violence.
