Prevc takes Two Nights Tour with back-to-back wins
Reigning ski jumping World Cup winner Nika Prevc has defended the Two Nights Tour title with back-to-back wins, clocking up her third and fourth victory this season.
After winning the event's opener in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany on 31 December, the 19-year-old Slovenian was again victorious in Oberstdorf on 1 January, scoring 311.9 points to finish ahead of Norway's Anna Odine Stroem and Eirin Maria Kvandal.
Prevc has eleven World Cup wins to her name and the plan is to retain the crystal globe she won in the 2023/24 season. Currently second in the overall World Cup standings, she is closing the gap to Germany's Katharina Schmid, now lagging only 26 points.
Of all male and female Slovenian ski jumpers, Prevc is now in third place when it comes to the number of individual wins, behind two legends of the sport, Primož Peterka (15) and her older brother Peter Prevc (24).
"I'm super excited, I got a little bit overwhelmed with my performance in the qualifications and the first round, but then I just tried to relax, and I'm happy that I did such a good jump," she told the organisers.
She hopes to achieve good results at the upcoming FIS Nordic World Ski Championships.
"I'm getting a little bit annoyed with myself because I tend to make a good jump only to complicate things later, but in the end it all worked out great," she later told the Slovenian public broadcaster.
