Revoz, the Slovenian subsidiary of French car manufacturer Renault, will start assembling a redesigned version of the electric Twingo next year, but now the French media report that the Novo Mesto plant could also start producing the electric Nissan Pixo in 2027. Revoz would not comment on the report.

Renault revealed in October that it was in dialogue with Japan's Nissan, its strategic partner, about the production of a small EV for Nissan, the French automotive magazine L'argus writes.

According to its information, the two companies have now reached an agreement. The new model is to be called Pixo with production to launch at the start of 2027 in Revoz, the report says.

Pixo will be fitted with the Chinese Shanghai eDrive engine and a battery with a range between 200 and 300km. The car is expected to start under €20,000.

Revoz is already preparing to start assembling the E-Twingo in 2026 with an initial annual output of 150,000 cars.

This could create up to 400 jobs in Novo Mesto in the long term, while the state will chip in up to €40 million in subsidies for the project, Economy Minister Matjaž Han told Forbes Slovenija some weeks ago.

According to Forbes, this means that the total amount of Renault's investment is between €120 million and €400 million, considering that under the law the government can subsidise between 10% and 30% of a company's investment.

Media have also reported that unofficially, Revoz is gearing up to start assembling one of the models of the Renault-owned Romanian car manufacturer Dacia. Revoz has not confirmed that.
