Foreign artists continue their dominance of Slovenian airwaves. In 2024 fewer that one in three songs played on the radio were Slovenian, the lowest share since statistics began 15 years ago.

Ten years ago the share of Slovenian music peaked at almost 43%, but since then it has been more or less consistently declining, shows data released by the national recording artists' association IPF.

The share of Slovenian music among the top 100 most played songs was just 7%, the same as in 2023.

The most played song was Stumblin' In by Australian DJ and producer Cyril, followed by Overdrive by Ofenbach featuring Norma Jean Martine, and David Guetta's I Don't Wanna Wait.

The highest-placed Slovenian song was Ironija (Irony) by Nina Pušlar in 33rd place.

Pušlar is the strongest force among domestic performers and has been the top ranked Slovenian artist in three out of the past five years.

Last year she was edged only by Eurovision entrants Joker Out, who stood out by placing second overall. In recent years top Slovenian songs were typically ranked around 30th place.

"Despite a somewhat lower ranking of domestic music in 2024, data shows that Slovenian artists have preserved their presence on air," IPF director Viljem Marjan Hribar said.
