Volčji Potok Arboretum - a unique spring experience
The Volčji Potok Arboretum is an 80-hectare botanical garden just 20 kilometres from Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. It boasts a huge collection of woody plants, 5,500 ornamental trees and shrubs, and 1,500 rose beds. The park is home to one million daffodils and just as many tulips and other bulbs of spring flowers.
With 350,000 visitors in 2024, the Volčji Potok Arboretum ranks among the top ten most visited tourist destinations in Slovenia. The variety of programmes and events attracts all generations.
The Arboretum has been honoured with an award for best outdoor playground, was named the best cultural destination in Ljubljana's surroundings, and received the Award of Garden Excellence from the World Federation of Rose Societies.
Exceptional Spring
Only at the Volčji Potok Arboretum can you experience true spring. The only other places where there are so many flowers in one place are the Netherlands and Turkey. Fields of daffodils, romantic Japanese cherry trees, charming magnolias, and the unmissable colourful tulips guarantee an unforgettable visit.
For a special experience, take a tour of the vast park by electric train, or walk to the hilltop lookout tower where you can see a third of Slovenia in good weather, sit and enjoy a picnic under the blossoming Japanese cherry trees, or relax on a sun lounger and read a book.
The Volčji Potok Arboretum offers all this and more unique experiences.
