Fuel prices in Slovenia will drop to more than 12-month lows on 23 April. Regular petrol sold off the motorway network will come 7.8 cents cheaper, at €1.417 per litre, and the price of diesel will be marked down by 8.1 cents to €1.443 per a litre.

The new prices, which apply until 5 May, were announced by the Ministry of Environment, Climate and Energy.

Prices of the top selling fuels sold outside the motorway network are regulated in Slovenia, while retailers set the prices at the service stations along motorways freely, but they will reflect the trend of regulated prices.

The government sometimes changes duties as well, but not this time. The duty on regular petrol will remain at €0.49693 and on diesel at €0.45878.

Margins will also remain the same: €0.0994 per litre of regular petrol and €0.0983 per litre of diesel.

The ministry estimates that regular petrol would cost €1.497 if it were not for the regulation, while a litre of diesel would cost €1.525.

The ministry said that fuel prices in Slovenia would continue to be adjusted biweekly to prices of oil derivatives on the global market and the euro-dollar exchange rate.
