The exhibition, located by the memorial plaque in front of the Prva gimnazija secondary school, tells the shocking story of the persecution and destruction of Jews, with Igor Vojtic of the Jewish Community in Slovenia saying "that bringing back these memories guides us into the future".

The Maribor exhibition of the Anne Frank House is slightly expanded with a section called Anna's Maribor peers, which tells the stories of Jewish children and teenagers from Maribor during the Holocaust.

With the memory of the genocide also needing to highlight the memory of those who survived the biggest tragedy of the first half of the 20th century, the Sinagoga Maribor Centre of Jewish Cultural Heritage devotes special attention to this topic each year.

Events to follow in Maribor and its surroundings this month include a panel entitled "One Name Each Year: The Unknown Slovenian Righteous from Prekmurje and Primorsko", as well as a talk with Croatian Jewish historian, writer and publisher Slavko Goldstein and a presentation of his book on Slovenian Jews.
