Potočnik to Present European Commission's Plans for 2013
The main goal of the Commission for this year is to get the EU out of the crisis and kick-start economic growth and job creation, the Commission's Representation in Slovenia said in a press release.
The Commission has said its priorities include making the bloc competitive on a global scale, where restructuring should enable it to better use the opportunities that will arise in the future.
It also aims to promote measures that will reduce unemployment among the young and boost mobility of elderly people. To enhance integration, several cross-border transport, telecommunication and energy networks are to be set up.
After holding the presentation in parliament and meeting Virant, Potočnik is scheduled to give a statement for the press together with the speaker.
The commissioner will then travel to Kranj, where he will deliver a lecture about green economy as an opportunity for development at the invitation of the regional branch of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GZS), the Representation of the European Commission in Slovenia has said.
