Changes to Greece Aid Act

The European Commission signed on 19 December an annex to Greece's loan agreement, lowering interest rates by 100 base points to Euribor levels calculated in line with the loan agreement plus 50 base points.

The changes to the act also extend the maturity of loans to Greece to a maximum of 30 years from 15 years. The moratorium on capital repayment meanwhile remains at ten years.

Slovenia's Finance Minister Janez Šušteršič said in December that the loosening of conditions for Greece would cost Slovenia between EUR 20m and EUR 30m.
