MPs will also get acquainted with the resignation of Speaker Gregor Virant, the head of the DL, which decided to leave the coalition on Wednesday.

Apart from Virant, Finance Minister Janez Šušteršič and Justice and Public Administration Minister Senko Pličanič also stepped down. The National Assembly is expected to get acquainted with their resignations on Thursday.

Monday's session will continue with deputy questions for PM Janez Janša and his ministers.

Ivan Hršak of the junior coalition Pensioners' Party (DeSUS) will ask Janša about the anomalies in the public sector pay system, while the head of the opposition Social Democrats (SD), Janko Veber, will quiz him about the solving of the political crisis.

On Tuesday, deputies will discuss the new police legislation and on Wednesday, the 2011 annual report of the human rights ombudsman will be on the agenda.
