The President Loking for a Way out of Political Crisis
The opposition Positive Slovenia (PS) and Citizens' List (DL) have confirmed meetings with Pahor, while the coalition People's Party (SLS) and New Slovenia (NSi) say the meetings have not yet taken place.
DL president Gregor Virant told the STA on Wednesday that the subject of his talks with Pahor was an initiative for all parties to agree on priority projects, for which Virant expressed his support.
The PS did not wish to reveal the contents of the discussion, but said they supported the president's initiative for a joint meeting.
Similarly, coalition Pensioners' Party (DeSUS) president Karl Erjavec confirmed that he had met Pahor and talked about the political situation along with discussing the relations with Croatia as foreign minister. He did not wish to go into further details, but he welcomed Pahor's initiative.
The date of the meeting of all party leaders with the president has not been scheduled yet, but unofficially, it is not expected to take place this week or the next.
The president had announced the initiative at a press conference last week, when he responded to the current situation in the country.
