Intelekta, a tourism company, said it hopes to launch weekly flights to Kos in June, which will be operated by Greek carrier Aegean Airlines.

"We expect to fly Fridays between 14 June and 20 September...We have rented an Airbus 320 with 168 seats and hope to fill the plane so as to be able to offer additional things to passengers next year," Intelekta boss Boris Farkaš told the press.

Representatives of the Maribor airport, which recently opened a new terminal and is also renovating the old one, expressed excitement about the deal. They meanwhile feel that the airport's upgraded infrastructure should provide new possibilities for new, possibly even permanent routes.
