Today, Maze was second only to Tesa Worley of France, who finished the race in 2:08.06. Maze was 1.12 seconds behind, while bronze went to Anna Fenninger of Austria, who was 1.18 seconds slower than Worley.

Maze finished the first run in fourth place. "I felt awful after the first run and am really happy over the medal. Unbelievable," Maze told public broadcaster TV Slovenija after the race.

Maze already won the first race of this World Championships, the super-G, and was second in the super-combined. On Saturday, she will compete in the final event of the World Championships, the slalom, where she is again considered a medal favourite.
