The monthly increase also stood at 3.4%, while the total output for the first two months of the year was up 0.8% on the first two months of 2012, according to data from the office.

The output in mining and quarrying rose 13.2% year-on-year, in manufacturing it was up 3.4% while in supply of electricity, gas and steam it was up 2.2%.

Moreover, an annual increase was seen in the output of intermediate and consumer products, at 2.5% and 7.6% respectively, while the output of investment products declined by 2.8%.

Revenues in industry also rose by 0.2% in February over a year ago, although in the first two months it was down 1.3% compared to 2012, according to the Statistics Office.
