The journey of the transformer began in early January in Turkey and ended on the railways at TEŠ even before schedule, the power plant said in a press release.

The several-hour transport of the transformer to its location at the power plant is expected to be carried out on Wednesday. The new TEŠ CEO Peter Dermol will then address the press.

TEŠ covered all its liabilities to the main contractor in the construction of generator six at the beginning of the month, including the additional EUR 15m in costs that were generated by Alstom's partial suspension of works due to unpaid bills.

The construction of the new generator is therefore back on track.

The 600-megawatt generator will be more efficient than all the existing generators at TEŠ. It will produce 30% more energy without generating additional CO2 emissions.
