The festival will this year be dedicated to the life work of the versatile German artist Peter Brötzmann, who is a free jazz saxophonist and clarinetist.

The festival will open with an exhibition at the International Centre of Graphic Arts (MGLC) entitled "Peter Brötzmann Solo, Works 1959-2013", which will feature his paintings, graphics and documentaries about him.

The opening will be accompanied by a concert of vibraphonist Jason Adasiewicz.

As part of the festival, a photography exhibition by Žiga Koritnik will open at the Small Gallery of the Cankarjev dom arts centre bringing a retrospective of Brötzmann's musical career while a world premiere of German-US project dubbed "Sax and Drums feat. Peter Brötzmann, Ken Vandermark, Hamid Drake & Chad Taylor" will be held at the Klub CD.

Brötzmann will perform at several other events as part of the festival, including together with drummer Hamid Drake and guitarist Mokhtar Gania.

Among the more popular names, the organisers of the festival highlighted Macy Gray and her latest project, a cooperation with US saxophonist David Murray, who is coming to Ljubljana with his Infinity Quartet.

Popular Japanese pianist Hiromi will also present herself with her trio.

Several Slovenian jazz musicians will also take the stage of the festival for which tickets are already on sale.
