New Ambassadors Appointed

Božo Cerar, a career diplomat who is currently state secretary at the Foreign Ministry, has been named ambassador to the US, while Andrej Logar, another career diplomat, will head the Slovenian mission to the United Nations.

Primož Šeliga, who last served as ambassador to Ukraine, will transfer to Moscow, according to the report.

In Germany the top diplomatic most will be occupied by Marta Kos Zorko, a former journalist and vice-president of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry currently working for the consultancy Gustav Käser Training International Slovenia.

Andrej Rahten, the head of the Foreign Ministry's strategic council and foreign policy adviser to former PM Janez Janša, will head the embassy in Vienna.

The government does not officially disclose the appointees, their names are revealed when the relevant orders are signed by the president.
