Layoffs at Biggest Commercial TV Operator



According to unofficial information, the company wants to cut costs by 15% through layoffs, especially among journalists of niche web portals and in news and sports programmes.

"Such measures are part of any healthy company and are necessary for long-term success," the company wrote.

They noted that the aim of the changes was to focus on profitable projects and those successful in the long run, pursuant to new trends in viewer and user habits and the development of new technologies.

Apart form the layoffs, POP TV is also scrapping its 1 PM news show after the summer.
