Volunteers Get Ready for EuroBasket Role

With just over three months to the opening of the European Basketball Championships, Saturday's event was an opportunity for the volunteers to be presented with the details of the event and to get to know each other.
Much like other major sporting events, EuroBasket will rely heavily on the contribution of volunteers in ensuring that all aspects of the event run smoothly.
The organisers have emphasised that just as EuroBasket is an unprecedented sporting event in terms of its size for Slovenia, it is also an unprecedented test in terms of obtaining the sheer numbers of volunteers to make it all possible.
But the response from basketball fans in Slovenia and also from abroad has been strong, which was acknowledged by EuroBasket 2013 director Aleš Križnar, who hailed the readiness of volunteers to contribute to the tournament.
The gathering in Stožice Arena, the venue for the second round and final matches of the tournament, was also an opportunity for the volunteers to meet Slovenian basketball legend Marko Milič.
