The agreement was signed by Slovenian Infrastructure and Spatial Planning Minister Samo Omerzel and the head of the Kuwaiti Directorate for Civil Aviation Fawaz Abdul-Aziz Al-Faraha.

Omerzel said building closer ties with the Middle East should translate into closer business ties.

The agreement can aid all areas of Slovenia's economy, but especially tourism, he said.

The agreement deals with technicalities of air connections between the countries, including the obligations of carriers, tariffs, safety standards and recognition of licenses.

Al-Faraha hailed the agreement as an important milestone in bilateral relations and expressed hope that it would translate quickly into air connections between the countries.
