According to the Commission, a comprehensive reform of the banking sector is at the core of the reform agenda in Slovenia, and there is a shared understanding with the authorities on the urgency of the system-wide cleanup.

If implemented thoroughly and decisively, the reforms will reinforce market confidence and ensure sustainable growth, the press release adds.

The Commission and the Slovenian government will work together to ensure that "all the conditions are met for a successful restructuring of the banking sector" in order to help the Slovenian economy and restore confidence.
