Slovenia Gain 10 Spots on FIFA Rankings after Double Win
Slovenia snapped the losing streak with a win over Turkey in a friendly and then beat Iceland away in a qualifier for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil on 7 June to register its first major jump on FIFA's ladder since September 2012.
Slovenia was 24th back then, but the losing streak that had seen it fall to last in group E of European qualifying for the World Cup led it to slip to as low as 56th in March.
Spain continue to top the rankings despite the recent loss in the finals of the Confederations Cup. Germany are second, followed by Columbia, which gained four places.
Confederation Cup winners Brazil returned among the top-10, soaring 13 places to ninth.
Slovenia's group E rivals Switzerland are 16th, Norway 25th, Albania 37th, Iceland 73rd and Cyprus 125th.
