The biggest drop was recorded in Spain (-6.9%), followed by Slovenia (-3.6%) and Romania (-3.1%).

The volume of retail sales in the eurozone was down by 0.5% on the monthly level, and by 0.3% in the entire EU, according to Eurostat.

At the annual level, the volume of retail sales in the eurozone was down 0.9% in July, while it was up by 0.1% in the 28 EU countries (Croatia entered the EU on 1 July).
